Our Early Learning Program
A Unique Approach
Early Learning Developments

Through our Early Learning Program we strive to provide quality learning opportunities, programs and workshops that develop competencies and skills appropriate to the wide variety of pedagogical settings experienced by both pre-service and in-service practitioners.

Our goal is to serve the multi-lingual and
multi-abled community of children by providing pre-service, in-service and on-going programs for teachers, family members, and other child-focused practitioners to develop the skills necessary to respond to the needs of the children in their care.

In particular, we intend to equip early childhood practitioners with the skills and training necessary to deliver high quality, developmentally appropriate early learning programs in order to apply for registration as licensed early childhood educators within British Columbia.

Living Language Institute is planning an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program to be launched in Fall, 2008.  Our LLIF Early Learning Program  will be submitted to the Ministry of Families and Child Development of British Columbia for certification.  Living Language Institute will also be applying to the BC Private Career Training Agency for certification so that our program can become accredited.

A unique characteristic of LLIF Early Learning Program  will be our use of the apprenticeship model throughout our training.  In this model theoretical understandings are shared in the context of mentored practice. This process  of sharing lasts throughout the entire program.  It is accompanied by carefully structured guidance in the art of ‘observing as methodology' .
